Jos Menten: ”Podium finish was possible...”
Having only driven a handful of laps with the RTR Porsche, Jos Menten is still convinced a good result is feasible. The second VLN race of the season is also the last chance to prepare the team and drivers for the infamous 24 Hours of the Nurburgring. The RTR Porsche is off to a good start and is running third in class. A podium finish was in sight.
Even though Haelen based driver Jos Menten was facing a bad cold, he was getting ready for his stint. Just before Menten took over the wheel, fate struck. A contact with another competitor forced the car of Menten, Palttala, Van Campenhoudt and Landmann out of the race. "It's a shame we're not heading home with a bronze medal. Now we're off to the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring with limited preparation. It's not ideal, but all 24 hour races are unpredictable. Porsche is always a reliable option for any endurance race, so with regards to reliability we should be safe. See you in three weeks in the Green Hell!"
