The 24 Hours of Spa 2013 promises to become a classical edition. Some 30 cars are aiming the highest step on the podium. More than ever
reliability of both man and machine will play a decisive role. Jos Menten will defend the colors of the German Blancpain Racing for the fourth time.
Blancpain Racing fields a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3. The Haelen based driver is teaming up with his fellow countrymen Peter Kox and Henk Haane,
and Swiss driver Marc A. Hayek.

The raging bull from Sant’Agata still bears starting number 24 and is entered in the highly competitive Pro-Am class. 29 cars will battle for
the class victory, where the strongest pairings are aiming for a general podium. “Competition will be fierce. We have in total 66 cars lined up on the
starting grid, and every year the level rises”, Jos Menten tells us. In free practice the team spends a lot of time working on the set-up, but there still
is some work to do: “We’re looking for the right solutions. The changing weather conditions are not helping either. The Belgian weather always is a
bit of a surprise…”
Menten and co only need one qualifying session to qualify for the superpole. A twelfth position in the first session
shows a spot in the top-five starting rows is a realistic target. In the superpole twenty cars will battle for pole position. Every twenty seconds a car
joins the track for his one and only flying lap. Lady Luck was not on the side of Blancpain Racing. Another competitor slid off the track and lost
some fluids on the asphalt. Peter Kox, behind the wheel of the Lamborghini, had to lift, and content himself with a 17th place on the grid.
